D.EM.E.T.R.A. project, final act for the students of the IIS Corinaldesi Padovano of Senigallia

A beautiful morning in Ancona in the Great Hall of the Faculty of Agriculture for the finalists of the D.EM.E.T.R.A. project, where students from high schools of the city participated in building their own future and creatin a competitive environment that rewards budding business ideas. On Thursday 18, during the closing of the Demetra project, 53 students, divided into 13 teams, presented their business idea to the jury of experts.

The students, all enrolled at the IIS Podesti Calzecchi Onesti of Chiaravalle and at the IIS Corinaldesi Padovano of Senigallia, put into practice the skills and tools acquired during the training course, but also the ideas suggested by the class meetings with the young entrepreneurs of the territory, and the inspirations received from visits to companies, with great attention to sustainability, ecology and the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

During the so-called "elevator pitch", a short two-minute presentation speech, the teams they found themselves telling the audience about their project in the great hall, without using presentations or images. It was no easy task to summarize everything in front of a jury in such a short time, which then selected the three finalist teams and decreed the classification.

  1. In first place the "Harmony design" project (eco-sustainable, handcrafted and tailor-made office furniture for personal well-being) by Marco Scarpiello, Viviana del Nobile, Salvatore Carbone and Filippo Santoni of the IIS Podesti Calzecchi Onesti.
  2. In second place "Papery" (paper recycling for the creation of unique made in Italy items) by Fatime Dzemoska, Maria Luchetta, Alex Mancini and Pina Zani of the IIS Corinaldesi Padovano;
  3. In third place on the podium "Suits" (rental of clothes and accessories for ceremonies or important events) by Marco Seri, Alessia Giulietti, Riccardo Pinto, Tommaso Petrucci, Emma Longarini also from IIS Corinaldesi Padovano. Among the parameters of the vote the clarity of the contents, the coherence of the project idea and the construction of the business idea, the ability to present and implement the document presented, the feasibility of the business idea and the impact and sustainability of the project.

Overall, the local companies were greatly satisfied with the involved youngsters who pitched their ideas: Namirial, Pierpaoli, Fiorini Packaging, Loccioni and La Terra e il Cielo. The D.EM.E.T.R.A. project, funded under the Conc.Im.O. of the Marche Region Youth Policies and the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service, has partnered with the Next cultural association, the Undicesimaora cooperative, the Il seme association and the Caritas Senigallia Foundation with the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of the Marche. The aim of the initiative was to stimulate the young participants to become protagonists through the creation of a business idea with an impact on the community.
