The program of the 13th edition of the Summer Jamboree

Johnny Farina, Freddy “boom boom” Cannon, Narvel Felts and Marshall Lytle: these are the stars who is going to perform at the Summer Jamboree 2012.

 

The 13^th edition of the “hottest rockin' party on earth”, organized by the Summer Jamboree Association, is going to rock the Velvet Beach from August 4^th to the 12^th with many novelties. In fact, together with the 4 guest-stars – who are going to perform on the stage of the Foro Annonario ( Narvel Felts on the 4^th, Johnny Farina on the 7th, Marshall Lytle on the 9th Freddy 'boom boom' Cannon on the 10^th) - at the 'Rock and Roll Show', on Saturday 11^th from 10 pm, the 22-musicians of the Abbey Town Jump Orchestra are going to make everybody dance by playing along several rock-&-roll stars such as Benny and The Cats, Junior Marvell, Greg, Max Paiella & The Jolly Rockers, Laurie Hagen, The Jets, Di Maggio Connection and many many others.

First of all, for the first time in its history, the 13th edition od the SUmmer Jamboree is going to have a pre-festival on August 3^rd at the gardens of the Rocca castle with the music and perfomance of the Blu Dolls, a group of 3 girls who have been on tour with Enzo Arbore, one of the most important Italian expert on 50es music and culture.

Secondly, together with traditional rock and roll, rockabilly, doo wop, rhythm 'n' blues, country, hillbilly, western swing, jive and boogie, the 2012 edition promotes the “Jazzy Jamboree”, a section of the festival totally devoted to the jazz. On August 9^th at the Rotonda a Mare, the notes and the traditional instruments of the jazz are going to be the absolute protagonists with the Skyline Jazz Quartet and the voice of Serena Api.

Thirdly this year , the festival is going to have new locations and new events like the burlesque workshop. Moreover, along the streets of the town center, you may run into the new “Busker Band”, a real juke Box that will be ready to perform your favorite songs.

Like every edition, the gardens of the Rocca Castle host the Vintage market and the gastronomic stands. The traditional Big Hawaiian Party on the beach is due on Thursday 8^th from the early hours of the afternoon until the sunset.
