Starting from July 16th the exhibition “A voyage into beauty” will lead you at the discovery of the Marian iconography in the Museum of Piazza del Duomo in Senigallia. On each Tuesday of July and August it is possible to freely pay a guided visit of the gallery. Two visits per night are available: the first starting at 9,30 p.m. and the second starting at 10,30 p.m. This is the chance to dive into the treasures of the Pinacoteca, a symbol of the artistic beauty of a vast territory. The focus will be also on the altarpiece made by Federico Barocci, conserved in the throne’s hall and dedicated to the Virgin presenting the Rosary to Saint Domenico.
Moreover, other authors who are also present in the picture gallery, have interpreted with paintings or sculptures the theme that will be the heart of the night. The visits will be held by some art historians, who will guide you through paintings, sculptures, silverware, furnishings, vestments and ornaments of the ancient apartment of the Cardinal Bishop of Senigallia. Today, great part of the museum is open to the public, locals and tourists. Places for visits will be very limited, because of the restrictions due to Covid-19. People will be able to enter following the arriving order, wearing a mask and sanitizing their hands. Reservation is not necessary. The spoken language during the visit is Italian.
The Pinacoteca is always open with free entrance, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 to 12 p.m.
