On Tuesday 16th July, at 6 p.m., at the Rotonda a mare of Senigallia, the 5th edition of Bach Marathon will start. As every year, the festival offers concerts and meetings which aim at a deeper knowledge of the artistic heritage of the Dutch genie.
This year, the exchange is between to giants of the art’s world: Johann Sebastian Bach and Federico Fellini. In the many commemorations of 2020, the hundredth anniversary of Fellini’s birth meant a cultural weight rather significant. It was incredible to discover how the music of Fellini’s cinematography has crossed the Dutch artist, thanks to the mediation of Nino Rota: Fellini expresses himself also with Rota’s music. He knows very well Bach and he even pays homage to him in his style in some of his compositions for films. This has inspired an original schedule for a fantastic edition.
On Tuesday 16th July, at 6 p.m., the Rotonda a mare welcomes the Marathon with the meeting “The only true realist is the visionary”: Gianfranco Angelucci, producer, film director, assistant of Federico Fellini and one of the most professional men in Rimini and the pianist Ilenia Stella, art director of the Marathon, they will give a voice to these giant artists. (The event will be broadcast on a live streaming from the auditorium ‘San Rocco’, the entrance is 10€, the ticket is also valid for the film screened at Gabbiano Arena). In the same day, the marathon continues, at 9 p.m., at the Rotonda a mare as usual, with the young protagonists of the piano’s and violin’s courses of the School of Music ‘B.Padovano’ of Senigallia. In the meantime, at Gabbiano Arena’s cinema, at 9,30 p.m., there will be the screening of ‘La dolce vita’ (the restored version in 4k), one of Fellini’s masterpieces and one of the most famous film of the history of international cinema, winner of Palma d’oro at 13th Festival of Cannes and winner of the Oscar for the best costumes.
On Friday 17th July, at 5 p.m., the Rotonda a mare will be hosting again the students of Scuola ‘Padovao’; at 6,30 p.m. the protagonists of the stage will be some young talents for a dialogue with Alessandro Streccioni, the creator and film maker of this year’s Marathon’s adverts. At 9 p.m., the complete esecution of the work ‘Invenzioni a due voci’ by Bach will be suggested by the students of the Scuola (piano, violin, viola, arpa).
On Saturday 18th July, at 6,30 p.m., the traditional and praised concert at dawn will embrace the Rotonda a mare with the notes of two cellos, one played by Francesca Gaddi and the other by Alessandro De Felice, with the music of Bach, Geminiani and Rota. In the late afternoon, from 6 p.m., there will be the concert for children ‘Doremiao’, while at 9 p.m., the ‘Invenzioni a tre voci: Rota, Bach e Fellini’ (the event will be broadcasted on a live streaming from San Rocco auditorium in Piazza Garibaldi and at the Gabbiano Arena cinema) with Anastasia Giardinieri playing the sax, Davide Caprari the piano and Giacomo Rotatori the accordion. (The entrance ticket price is 10€, valid also for the film of Gabbiano Arena cinema). Finally, at Gabbiano Arena cinema, at 10 p.m. ‘Amarcord’ will be projected, one of the most famous films by Fellini.
